Bajie arrives to assist Wukong, attacking the Bull Demon King with his muckrake. The combined assault forces the Bull Demon King to retreat, but he refuses to surrender the Banana-Leaf Fan, expressing deep hatred for Wukong. A fierce battle ensues, with Bajie and Wukong fighting the Bull Demon King together.

Jade Countenance Summons the Fiends

Princess Jade Countenance, alerted by the battle, sends external guards to help the Bull Demon King. Over a hundred fiends join the fight, overwhelming Bajie and Wukong, who are forced to retreat. The Bull Demon King regroups with his fiends inside the cave and shuts the door tightly.

Plans Forged After Defeat

After retreating, the group discusses their next move. Wukong explains his earlier encounter with Princess Jade Countenance, spying on the Bull Demon King, stealing his beast, and deceiving Raksasi to obtain the Banana-Leaf Fan. They debate whether to find another way or persist in fighting for the fan, with the local spirit urging them to stay on the main path.

Battle at the Cave Gate

Bajie, Wukong, the local spirit, and ghost soldiers smash the cave door, provoking the Bull Demon King. Enraged, the Bull Demon King emerges and battles them fiercely. After over a hundred rounds, Bajie—empowered by Wukong—attacks relentlessly. Overwhelmed, the Bull Demon King abandons his armor, transforms into a swan, and flees with Bajie and Wukong in pursuit.

A Skyward Duel of Transformations

Wukong and the Bull Demon King engage in a dramatic series of transformation battles, shifting into various animals such as vultures, eagles, phoenixes, deer, tigers, lions, bears, leopards, and elephants, each trying to outwit the other. The duel ends with the Bull Demon King reverting to his true form as a giant white bull, and Wukong matching him in size and power.

Heavenly Hosts Encircle the Demon King

The Bull Demon King's battle alarms deities, including the Golden Head Guardian, Six Gods of Darkness and Light, and Eighteen Arhats, who surround and attack him. Despite his ferocity, Wukong and the deities corner the Bull Demon King, forcing him to retreat to Palm-Leaf Cave.

Bajie and the local spirit destroy the Bull Demon King's previous lair, eliminating the remaining fiends and setting fire to the cave-dwelling before regrouping at Palm-Leaf Cave.

Bajie smashes the cave door with his rake, alarming Princess Iron Fan. The Bull Demon King, still recounting a previous battle with Wukong, becomes enraged and spits out the fan to Princess Iron Fan before preparing for another fight.

The Bull Demon King and Bajie engage in combat, leading to Wukong joining with his iron rod. The battle intensifies among gods and deities until the Bull Demon King retreats after fifty rounds.

Diamond Guardians Close the Net

The Bull Demon King is pursued and ambushed by Diamond Guardians from different directions (north, south, east, west), each claiming to capture him under Buddha's decree.

Chains of Heaven, Surrender in the Sky

The Bull Demon King, in giant white bull form, tries to escape but is intercepted by Nezha and Devaraja Li. Nezha transforms and repeatedly decapitates the Bull Demon King, but new heads keep appearing. Nezha subdues him with his fiery wheel, while Devaraja Li prevents further transformations. Defeated, the Bull Demon King surrenders and reveals the Banana-Leaf Fan is with his wife, Princess Iron Fan.

A Nun’s Surrender, the Fan Returned

Princess Iron Fan, dressed as a nun, presents the Banana-Leaf Fan to Wukong after her husband’s capture. The group returns with the Banana-Leaf Fan under divine protection.

Guardians Greet the Pilgrims’ Triumph

Sanzang and Wujing anxiously await Wukong’s return. Divine warriors arrive with the fan, and Sanzang is addressed by the guardians as his journey nears completion.

Three Fannings to Quell the Inferno

Wukong uses a fan to subdue the flames on the mountain, first reducing them to faint glows, then creating a cool breeze. On his third fanning, rain begins to fall, cooling the area and liberating Sanzang from distress.

Iron Fan’s Plea and the Secret of Rain

After the fire subsides, Princess Iron Fan begs Wukong to return her Banana-Leaf Fan. Bajie refuses, fearing she might reclaim it and cause trouble again. Princess Iron Fan explains that fanning forty-nine times is needed to extinguish the fire permanently.

Forty-Nine Fannings, Peace Everlasting

Wukong fans the mountain forty-nine times, causing torrential rain that only falls on the fire-affected area, permanently extinguishing the flames. The pilgrims return Princess Iron Fan’s Banana-Leaf Fan, which transforms back into an almond leaf. Princess Iron Fan vows to cultivate in seclusion, having witnessed the pilgrims' mercy and the power of the fan.
